The Home page is where you start to create your personal timeline. On this page you can:

To start your personal timeline, click GO Start Here . This will bring you to a page where you can create a profile. You choose a username and password and enter some basic demographic information. You can also upload a picture or image if you like.

Next, you click on View and Edit Events.

Event Title: Think about the event you want to write about and give it a title. You can also wait until after you write about the event to decide on a title.

Event Description: Write a brief description of the event. What happened? Why is it important to you?

Event Year: Enter the year the event happened.

Category: Decide what category this event falls within: Health, Work/Education, Play/Leisure, or Family and click on the appropriate icon.

Associated People: List any people who are associated with this event and enter their relationship to you.

You can upload a photo associated with this event, if you wish.

Finally, either delete or save the event.

View Timeline: On this page you can view your entire timeline, only events associated with a specific category, only events associated with a specific timeframe, or events associated with specific people. For example, you may wish to look at family events, between 1989 and 2011, that include your spouse or children.

Printing your timeline: Users may export the timeline in two formats, the commonly-used Adobe PDF format and a simple comma-separated value (CSV) spreadsheet which is compatible with many spreadsheet programs. (If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the PDF, please click here.) On the Timeline page, you will see two buttons at the bottom right – one to download the PDF and the other to download the CSV. From here, you can simply print the downloaded document.
